Downsizing combines practical measurements with personal decisions. Some belongings are straightforward; others carry family history or need input from more than one person. The process needs an agreed order and enough time for the person who owns the items to decide.
We work at the pace of whoever is making the decisions. Belongings get grouped into keep, family gifting, donation, recycling and dispose. Where there is a floor plan and reliable measurements for the next home, we check furniture and storage against it before anything is packed. Charity pickup and rubbish removal can be arranged when they are part of the agreed scope.
The move itself can be covered by packing and unpacking, and if the sorting is the whole job, decluttering may be the better starting point.
